Meet Michael
Real Estate Appraiser & Broker
With a background in agriculture, 5 generations to be exact, I know firsthand the complexities and challenges of land ownership, but I also know the joy and fulfillment it can bring. Land ownership is a responsibility that requires careful thought and planning.
My goal is to provide high-quality, well-researched valuations that support, assist, and inform land owners, so they can make the best decision for their situation.

Mike's 20-plus-year career began with Kokel-Oberrender-Wood Appraisal, Ltd of Georgetown, TX in 2003. He began as a staff appraiser and later became a partner in 2010. In 2025, Michael founded Mays Landmark Real Estate Services and continues to serve landowners with their real estate needs. Michael is licensed as a Texas State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser as well as a Texas Real Estate Broker.
He is an active member of many well-respected industry associations and holds leadership roles in several. He regularly participates in the Annual Outlook for Texas Land Markets organized by the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University, speaking on the rural value trends panel and contributing to the Texas Rural Land Value Trends Publication.
Michael is a co-founding partner of the LandWise Partners, LLC, an ag and land consulting alliance of experts involved in legal, financial, agronomic, natural resource, water, branding, conservation, policy, education, oil and gas, and other land and agricultural subject matter issues.

What are landmarks?
Physical landmarks help us define a place. It might be a historic courthouse in the center of town, a church where you gather to pray, a building where you conduct business, land that provides for your family or an oak tree where you said your vows. The “landmarks” we frequent, live in, and use in our productive efforts in many ways help to shape us, allowing for the creation of wealth and community. That’s one of the things I find interesting about real estate and why I devote considerable time trying to understand its value. Moral and ethical “landmarks” define the boundaries used in conducting our business affairs. If you share a similar philosophy, I welcome the opportunity to visit with you to learn how I can earn your trust and be of professional service toward your real estate goals.
